Clinical environment, Hirslanden group, Lausanne

The Center

Founded on a single demand: total coordination.

Treating cancer today requires full synergy between medical disciplines.

The center was founded on this requirement for coordination by Dr Emmanuel Melloul, a specialist in surgical oncology and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, founding member and president of the Swiss HPBA (Swiss Chapter of the IHPBA).

By bringing these skills together within a state-of-the-art environment, we offer our patients a complete assessment and individualized treatment strategies that meet the most recent international standards.

Infrastructure

A first-rate medical environment.

Most procedures take place within the Hirslanden group in Lausanne. Selected procedures can also be performed at Clinique de La Source or Clinique de Genolier, where Dr Melloul is likewise accredited. Latest-generation operating rooms and a highly certified intensive care unit: the safety and comfort of the patient are our absolute priority.

Our approach

Every clinical situation is discussed in a multidisciplinary meeting in line with international recommendations.

Discussion comes before decision. Cases are assessed collectively, then managed according to protocols designed to speed recovery safely.

Coordination

Weekly multidisciplinary meetings

Cases are discussed each week at the clinic: surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, gastroenterologists and radiologists together determine the most appropriate treatment, before any procedure.

Recovery

ERAS protocols

Enhanced recovery after surgery, led by an active member of the international ERAS Society, shortens and improves convalescence in complete safety.
